- October 2011, Varentec was a recipient of a $5m ARPA-E Grant for the GENI program, together with a group of partners that include EPRI, NEETRAC, Waukesha Electric (SPX) and NEETRAC/Georgia Tech University.
- In late 2011, Varentec closed Series A funding of $7.7m.
- August 2011, Dr. Deepak Divan joins as President and CTO.
- November 2010, Varentec earns a $2.2m grant by the Department of Energy for technologies to improve stability on the electric grid.
Upcoming Events
Varentec will be present at the 2012 ARPA-E Summit in February in Washington DC, an event highliting the technology and teams that received ARPA-E grants in 2011.
At that event, on Tuesday afternoon February 28th, Dr. Deepak Divan will be talking on a panel entitled "Future Grid: Beyond Smart Meters".
